I was recruited as the Project Engineer, acting deputy engineering manager, in charge of the Expansion of the GMP Area of Reckitt Factory in the Al Hidd Industrial Area for introducing a new Machine and manufacturing line to produce Dettol Wet Wipes for the Middle East and Lysol Wet Wipes for North America Markets.
I have worked with the Design Consultant to design the new GMP Area expansion with necessary modifications to the HVAC system, Fire alarms and sprinklers system, electricity upgrades, false ceiling, the process modification of Clean in Place hot water, and the process of feeding the product to the machine.
I procured and managed the Main Contractor and the specialist sub-contractors and I have supervised the works. I have coordinated internally with the Quality department to ensure the protection of the GMP Area and support business continuity by allowing construction and production in adjacent areas without contaminating the produced products. Additionally, I have created a team comprised of the most skilled persons from the Operations department, and the maintenance department to assemble the machine while working remotely through an online platform with the machine manufacturer to provide guidance regarding assembly, testing, and commissioning of the Machine. Due to COVID-19 conditions, the machine manufacturer was not able to visit the Factory, and I have overcome this challenge and managed to run the machine and produced samples, and sent them to the research and development department for quality to approve before commercial production.
